According to developers, Neonode AirBar practically does not consume system resources and is activated right after connection, without the need for installation of drivers. On feelings and speed of a response the working AirBar is quite comparable with the capacity screen of modern tablets.

The device implementing technology of optical sounding Neonode in zForce™ consists of a set of detectors and light emitters, the optical light guide with lenses and the touch IC controller connected to a host. The technology does not impose any special requirements to design of the display and its covering, providing 100% optical transparency of a window and the high image quality without any artificially created flares is stable. Authors of innovation emphasize that features of optical technology of sounding provide a number of essential benefits in comparison with the existing touch and contactless techniques, such as cameras, the IR-port, resistive and capacity screens. Simplicity of the principle used in Neonode in zForce™ significantly reduces resource intensity and cost value of a final solution, expanding at the same time borders of opportunities for its application in mobile phones, gadgets of wearable technologies, the PC, notebooks, printers and others.

As the principles of technology are based on optical effects, efficiency of AirBar practically does not depend on electrical noises. At the same time the unique touch IC NN1002 controller, using complex systems of filtering at the hardware level, in combination with the filtering performed by optical and program methods allows to receive the system which is completely protected from influence of noises from surrounding light sources. At the same time the range of temperatures at which the system shows stable working parameters is limited by thresholds of -40 °C to + 85 °C.

It is important that the technology works at any type of the display and with surfaces of displays of any form, including concave surfaces. For convenience of the user and in order to avoid pollution of the screen in many cases useful is a non-contact method of "a contact in air".
