In support of Dream Wi-fi prompted me the document in which the registration procedure of radio equipment is stated (sent on minkomsvjaz.ru more precisely) and suggested to fill in the request for registration of access point of Wi-fi. The matter is that at installation of a point with an emitting power no more than 100 MW taking into account gain of the antenna out of the room the simplified diagram of registration via the website rsoc.ru works. But a little, more precisely cardinally other situation to me was described in local department of Roskomnadzor to me reported that it is speculation of the vendor on inaccuracies of solution GKRCh, and the employee read a solution No. 09-05-09 at me. The state radio-frequency center told that it is absent at all, and right after mounting and inclusion, will arrive to us, will disconnect all equipment and will decently fine.
Where truth? I got confused and hope a little that the publication will be read by people competent of this question and will be able to give the comment.

For the new project on implementation of high IT technologies in agriculture we needed to provide a communication channel to faraway lands. Cellular communication is near death, operators refuse E1, even Sibirtelekom can give nothing, not to mention others * telecoms.
Here we were come to the rescue by that Wi-Fi. To the next point distance about 4 km. Theoretically for Wi-Fi is not a problem. Business only in devices.
Without philosophizing crafty, we ordered two sets of above-mentioned Dream Wi-fi modules.

Hardware
So, the set of DWF2 consists from
1) Antennas with the built-in Wi-fi module:

3) Strepov for fastening to a pole.

The antenna, apparently on a photo, is a monoblock with fastenings on a back wall. Under the removed cover the RG-45 and SMA connector for connection of the external antenna.

The antenna and the built-in module receive power supply through PoE, respectively and on the power supply unit two RG-45 connectors: LAN and PoE. The connector for the external antenna standard and cannot be found a suitable jumper. Two openings for the Ethernet cable and for a feeder, but as it is by default supposed that I will use the built-in antenna are provided in the lower part, the opening for a feeder is only planned, but is not cut through.
Power indicators, LAN and the signal level are located behind above that quite logically and elaborately.

From everything, as for appearance and iron part of the device, only three moments concern:
1) Tightness of the lower compartment. At all other devices of external execution I saw the hermetic connector RG-45 which is densely inserted into the connector. However so far we with it had no problems. Moisture will be harmful also in case of connection of the external antenna.
2) Fastening on strepa. In strong wind and permanent difference of temperatures such solution seems a little doubtful and I would prefer metal brackets or at least collars.
3) Grounding. On the body of neither the antenna nor the power supply unit I did not see the grounding terminal. And it is the critical moment for devices which will be placed at height.

The device came in a cheerful green box on which there was an instruction for connection, no manuals appeared inside, lines.

But that we should build the house? The address is, parameters of access are — we will deal with the rest.

As if not so! The address (192.168.0.5) specified on a box is unavailable. I try to take the address from a grid 192.168.1.0 and on broadcasting ping I receive the answer from a node 192.168.1.20. I hammer into the browser and I see a window with request of the login/password. But again the specified dream/dream does not approach. Also all other standard combinations do not approach. Here without the aid of Google not to manage. And the last obligingly prompts: ubnt/ubnt. It appears at some point they changed a firmware and it caused also changes such. And it is valid: the browser accepts such data and displays an adminka.
Actually, second group of questions: why not to make issue of IP addresses on DHCP? Why not to select to devices by default the address 192.168.1.1 or 1.2? In my opinion, it is normal practice. And eventually, why not to specify up-to-date data on a box or not to attach a thin book?
But we will leave. So, we in Dream WiFi inner sanctum. The device can be access point, WDS access point, subscriber station or WDS station. We need normal connection a point-to-point. One will be access point, another — the client.

It is configured in the Link Setup panel. Setup is quite standard. There is a possibility of the choice of width of the channel: 5/10/20 MHz. Frequency is configured manually on both devices. Authentication modes are supported: WEP, WPA2. All of them work normally.
On access point it is possible to add the list of MAC addresses of subscriber stations and to set for them the rule: it is possible/is impossible. On the subscriber of station it is possible to set the MAC address of access point to which it can be connected.
To watch the status on the first panel. Here all parameters of the device, including the signal level for subscriber station are reflected:

On the Network Setup tab the operation mode of the device (router/bridge), IP addresses, DHCP is configured.

The following panel — specific settings. Here it is possible to configure additional settings of wireless connection, polarization of the antenna (it is about external), thresholds of reaction of indicators of the back panel, shaping of a traffic and QoS.

In the Service panel the first group of settings frightens: renut after 3 unsuccessful attempts of a ping.

The web interface is the interface for management by default. Connection to the command line is closed. However, all necessary settings can be entered also via the Web interface. Apparently from screenshots, it is quite logical and clear, besides, it is possible to organize the protected connection through https.
Well and the last tab — management of a firmware, configuration, users. Everything is standard and plus an opportunity to set any logo at the top of the page.

After introduction of any changes in upper part of the page warning that changes need to be applied or rejected appears. After clicking the Apply button as far as I understand, Dream Wi-FI reboots. By the way, load time and connections very small — about a minute.
In general, an unusual solution that each change needs to be approved. It is a little non-standard if you got used that settings are applied to the started configuration at once. However, it is quite viable.

Generally, as for a control interface, it was very convenient and consistent. Here to me interfaces of switches Zyxel or some routers of WiMAX which straight off and even not straight off not to understand are remembered.

Connection

To be connected does not represent any work. From the moment of opening of a box before connection of minutes 15. No problems arose in the router mode, the bridge mode. And here tests of flow capacity the iperf program in vitro showed around only 20 Mbps. For our purposes of it in general with interest it is enough, but nevertheless it would be desirable to see declared 54. The laboratory of the device was from each other at distance to 5 meters.

Common word
The website of the supplier is boring for the technician: it is a lot of pictures and beautiful words, it is not enough information. On it not to find either documentation, or technical characteristics. It is similar to the website business card more likely. But, contacts are - it is the necessary condition though insufficient. I had not to communicate with technical support much, but people sit quite obliging there.
And once again I want to tell about a delivery set. Not to put though some documentation and technical characteristics is bad manners, a bigger problem: mismatch of information on a box real. I hope, they will pay attention to it.

Conclusion
So, despite all above-mentioned shortcomings, I would recommend this device for use. From alternatives only Lantastika, RRL, laying of own optical link, lease of channels at other operators and some self-combined constructions from office access points and antennas occur.
Lantastika and other BOKS'Y is the mass of impressions of setup for much bigger money.
RRL and mounting of wire channels demands very big attachments, and also difficult and long procedure of receipt of permissions.
Lease of communication channels besides rests against economic feasibility, and a bonus dependence on the third parties.
Though, certainly, everything depends on a specific objective. For the equipment described above there is a certain niche.
