Fraud upon second-hand purchase of Macbook Pro

1 year, 3 months ago
Today the acquaintance appealed to me to help to purchase second-hand Macbook Pro. I warned at once that qualification at me is close to zero, but than I can — I will help. With PC densely I do not work hard years, and I own Mac at the upper teapot level. Fluent search in the phrase "how to check macbook pro" at once led to the exhaustive publication geektimes.ru/post/157969 But inexperience nevertheless brought me.

Declaration:

That is in the declaration the top MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.9 13 model is offered" to Mid-2012 (MD102). Really it MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.66 13" — 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD appeared Mid-2010 (MC375). The power supply unit was new.

That irritates me in MacBook

1 year, 3 months ago
I use makbuky about 1 year, I use it daily and many. Before I sat on Ubuntu and Windows. And when I bought MacBook that I expected that reasonableness of OS and convenience of use will be above any praises. After all it Apple and inflated price creates at me the overestimated expectations concerning quality. But alas in practice everything was not so ideal as I considered. Many defects come from fundamental approach of Apple in which they put design above convenience and very often it turns out so that what they do beautiful from the esthetic point of view not conveniently to use in practice. In general I am a supporter of what the beautiful design would not spoil functionality. There is also other class of shortcomings which are simple for eating and not it is clear for what reasons of Apple decided to implement this functionality quite so, but not differently. But about everything one after another.

The Mac OS X 10.10.4 and TRIM updating on SSD of third-party vendors

1 year, 9 months ago
At the WWDC 2015 developers conference which took place recently announced upcoming version of Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. At deeper acquaintance to innovation it turned out that Apple provided a possibility of forced inclusion of TRIM for SSD of third-party vendors. Hurrah! the Truth of an output of new OS it is necessary to wait till fall. But to general pleasure already in the current updating 10.10.4 there is a trimforce command.

Recently I having inspired by this post of geektimes.ru/post/200362 built to himself Fusion Drive. The disk selected Samsung of 850 Pro on 128 GB. The effect of adding of SSD was improbable (70 Mbps-> 260 Mbps). The only thing that I did not begin to do on Mac OS X 10.10 — did not begin to use TRIM enabler for forced inclusion of TRIM, for this purpose it should interfere with a system security policy. Counted that to some extent there will be enough SSD over-provisioning opportunities. With over-provisioning too an interesting story. At household disks under these purposes only 7% of the place unlike server models where about a third of volume is reserved are reserved. As option, it is possible to create the section of smaller capacity on a household disk, having released the necessary space under over-provisioning. The problem is that I am not so strong in the command line and on algorithm of creation of Fusion Drive I do not know where and what needs to be configured so that to select only part of a disk.

Month through 2-3 responsiveness of the computer considerably decreased. I start the test and I see the expected picture:

SSD was filled, the TRIM command is not included, everything is bad.

Everything is not so ideal as it would be desirable

1 year, 11 months ago
Whether often you observe such message on the computer?

I do not think that users of MacBook expect to see such picture at myself on the monitor, and especially you do not expect it to see working at MacBook Pro with 4 kernels of Intel Core i7 (2,5 GHz everyone), random access memory of 16 GB DDR3, and the SSD drive on 480 GB which will give quite good speed for virtual memory if in it there is a need.
