The art project on Raspberry Pi generates millions of "damage" to owners

2 years, 10 months ago
Peter Sunde, the former press secretary of The Pirate Bay, never hid the ideals: it is freedom of information and freedom of copying. He paid for these ideals: last year Peter spent five months in prison for especially dangerous prisoners.

Nevertheless, the guy did not change the principles of kopimi. Developed as the complete antithesis of a copyright, the license kopimi directly demands that people copied work for any purposes, commercial and non-commercial.

Owners hold other opinion. They consider that each digital copy has value. The "non-licensed" copy is the missed profit. They repeatedly used such argument in court, including against Peter Sunde, it still owes corporations millions of dollars as compensation for allegedly missed profit.

In the art project Peter Sunde finished idea to the point of absurdity.

Mimic: a harmful script which spoils nerves to programmers

2 years, 11 months ago
Participants of the Russian state tenders applied small cunning earlier: the customer and the supplier agree about the transaction in advance. Then in the conditions of the tender on the open website some Cyrillic characters replace on Latin that the competitor did not find the tender by means of search.

The same method is used by authors of a harmful script of Mimic, but with other purpose: to defile a program code in such a way that it will not be compiled, will cause hundreds of syntax errors, and the programmer will not be able to understand in what business.

For example, in the C# code normal period character from a comma (;) it is replaced with the Greek question mark (;). Meanly, but it is effective.

The Voronoi diagram of finite set of points of S on the plane represents such splitting the plane at which each area of this splitting forms a set of points, more relatives to one of S set members, than to any other set member.

The data visualization expert and information science Jason Davies (Jason Davies) uploaded several curious experiments to the website, including with spherical Voronoi diagrams.

The neuronet creates pictures in Van Gogh and Picasso's style

The Google company showed recently how the neuronet can independently create works of art. Simply speaking, to draw pictures, exaggerating the existing images.

The new experiment made at university of Tuebingen (Germany) shows alternative algorithm for a neuronet: she plausibly forges art style of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Edward Munch and any other artists. On an input any images are suitable for processing.

Generation of classical music by means of a recurrent neuronet

3 years, 2 months ago
Presently the trained neuronets create surprising things, but experiments in this area continue to open something new. For example, the programmer Danijel Johnson (Daniel Johnson) published results of the experiments on application of neuronets for generation of classical music.

Unfortunately, on GT it is impossible to build in the audiofile therefore it is necessary to give a direct reference to listen to one of results: http://hexahedria.com/files/nnet_music_2.mp3.

How at it it turned out?
